Need Speed? Lexar Pro 600x CompactFlash Cards

Lexar has introduced the Lexar Professional 600x CompactFlash CF card, with guaranteed minimum sustained write speeds of 90MB/s in UDMA 6 enabled devices. Yes they're fast, and that's not just an in-camera boost in speeds, the new 600x cards from Lexar also provide faster card to computer performance, meaning less time waiting for those painfully long transfers from your high resolution digital camera. From Lexar's press release:
Photographers are constantly demanding more from their equipment, and an increase in image capture speeds paired with a decrease in image transfer times can mean the world to a professional shooter,” said Jeff Cable, director of marketing, Lexar Media. “The combined solution of our new Professional 600x CF card and Professional ExpressCard CompactFlash reader is the next step in CF memory technology and will provide photographers with the speeds and performance they need to capture the best shots and improve their imaging workflow. When shooting with newer cameras like the Canon EOS 7D, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Nikon D3x or Nikon D300S, professionals can capture more images per second and hundreds of JPEG files without pausing to clear their cameras’ buffers.
Lexar supplied Rob Galbraith Digital Photography Insights website with their newest 600x speed cards and the results were impressive:
With the introduction of the Professional 600x line, Lexar is - for the first time in several years - producing a CompactFlash series for working photographers that provides class-leading read and write speeds,” says Rob Galbraith in a story published today on the Rob Galbraith Digital Photography Insights website. “In our test of the 600x 16GB card, it came out on top in several of the most popular digital SLRs - including the Canon EOS 7D - plus turned in the fastest card-to-computer transfer rates in FireWire 800 reader testing on the Mac and ExpressCard adapter testing in Windows.
The new Lexar Professional 600x CompactFlash CF cards will be available at the end of this month in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB varieties.
