Phase One Releases Capture One 5 PRO
This entry was written by Patrick Dean, editor of the photography news and review website, Neutralday.com.

Earlier this week Phase One released the latest version of their RAW editing and imaging workflow application, Capture One 5 PRO. For the unfamiliar, Capture One is a professional level application used by a good many working photographers, especially those using higher end DSLR cameras and medium format systems. This latest version adds or enhances a number of exciting features:
- Skin tone enhancer: Perfects, smooths, and softens skin tones
- Focus tool: provides instant real view of image sharpness
- Focus mask: a workflow enhancer that aids in visualizing sharpness and focus faster
- Dust spot removal: remove all dust spots in a series with a single click
- Enhanced workflow accelerators
- Enhanced metadata editing
- New watermarking tool
- And so much more...
Now I realize many photographers are locked into a workflow application already, perhaps Adobe's Lightroom or Apple's Aperture, but with Capture One's tethering capability (ability to shoot directly into the application) and now even more prodigious editing and enhanced workflow abilities, it might be well worth the effort to give Capture One 5 Pro a try. More information and a 30 day free trial of Capture One 5 Pro is available at www.phaseone.com/5. Trust me, you'll want to check it out.
