On January 4^th, a French rowing team consisting of Catherine Remy, Laurence De Rancourt, Laurence Grand-Clement, and Quitterie Marque embarked on a journey across the Atlantic. The female team of four named “Rames-Dames” is participating in the Atlantic 2009, a bi-annual race organized by Woodvale Challenge, where they will attempt to cross the Atlantic from La Gomera (Canary Islands) to Antigua in their autonomous row boat.

The challenge will take the team between 60 and 90 days and promises to be a unique experience with rough conditions and difficult times but also "many magical moments rowing under the stars, sharing team laughs and meeting whales."
