Today, Topaz Labs announced the latest iteration of the powerful photoshop plug-in Topaz Adjust. Topaz Adjust 4 is, according to the company's site, "the easiest way to make your photos pop". While this may seem like an overzealous statement, you can't prevent yourself from being intrigued. So we put Topaz Adjust 4 to the test!

Accessing Topaz Adjust is a breeze. Through Photoshop, you simply select Topaz Adjust and get to a clean interface.

On your left: A complete list of filters including Exposure correction, Photo Pop, and the sexier Pyschedelic and Spicify.

In the middle: Your original image and a preview with your current filter applied.

On the right: Tweak individual parameters to achieve the desired look.

The choice is quite large and we found the filters to be quite dazzling. Here are some before and after shots.

We submitted our rocker to the spicified treatment (Filter: Spicify). Bringing out a whole new feel for the image with purple and yellow tones, as well as more details and shadows.

Finally, this little guarding Lion was modified once using the DRAMATIC filter and once using the SPICIFY filter.

I think the improvements that this new version has will really appeal to a wide audience of photoshop users. Its interface is great and the set of filters quite useful. It's easy to get caught up in the drastic changes that filters like DRAMATIC and SPICIFY can create, but just as useful are the filters like Photo Pop or Exposure Correction, that tweak the image just enough to make it great.
