FTP Upload Configuration
If your subscription allows it, you can upload items to your account using any FTP Client that supports Encrypted FTP Transfers. We recommend using Filezilla a great client available for free, but any client that support standard FTP or FTPS/FTPES should do.
In order to setup your client application, you will need your UserName and Password, available on the My FTP Upload Configuration page in your iSyndica account. Please note that this information is different than your main iSyndica account login.
Then simply setup Filezilla following the instructions below:
Adding a New Site to Filezilla
- Open the Site Manager
- Create a New Site
- Name it: ftp.isyndica.com
Configure: General Tab
- Host: ftp.isyndica.com
- Servertype: FTP or FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL
- Logontype: Normal
- User: <ftp user name provided to you>
- Password: <ftp password provided to you>
For security purposes, we recommend you use FTPES, however, certain hardware/software firewall, will interfere with your network packets and cause intermittent disconnections. In this case, use straight FTP.

Configure: Advanced Tab
- No changes required

Configure: Transfer settings Tab
- Transfer mode: Passive
- Limit number of simultaneous connections: Check
- Maximum number of connections: 3
- Note: Your uploads will fail if your client tries to open more than 3 connections!

Configure: Charset Tab
- No change required

Where to upload?
You will find several folders on the server, waiting for you, one for each category of content. Upload photos in the photo folder, videos in the video folder and illustrations in illustration folder.
IMPORTANT: You cannot upload at the root, and content uploaded in the wrong folder will not be processed.

What can I upload?
The same constraints as for regular website uploads apply. Any item not following our Content Submission Guidelines will be automatically deleted - no exception.
What happens to my FTP Uploads?
They get processed just like regular website uploads, added to your online catalog, and do get syndicated automatically based on your last auto-syndication settings that you setup the last time you uploaded on the website. This can be a great time saver if your images are already properly keyworded and do not need any type of review, but make sure you do have the right auto-syndication settings or you'll end up sending items in the wrong direction!
Are there limitations?
You can upload as many files as you want into your FTP account, for automatic processing and forwarding, however, please note the following:
- Items that do not meet the Content Submission Guidelines will be deleted.
- Just as with website uploads, syndication will pause automatically if your account runs out of credits.
- Should you run into your storage limit, anything you uploaded will be processed normally and added to your account, however your FTP access will be temporarily disabled until you either free or add storage space on your iSyndica catalog.
